Hawaii EMS Association

Saving Lives Across the Hawaiian Islands

A nonprofit organization committed to advancing emergency medical services, supporting Hawaii's paramedics and EMTs, and building safer, more resilient communities throughout the islands.

About Us

The Hawaii EMS Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving emergency medical services professionals and communities across the Hawaiian Islands. Based in Kula, Maui, our Association represents the dedicated men and women who respond to medical emergencies every day, often in some of the most challenging geographic and environmental conditions in the nation.

Our organization was founded to address the unique challenges facing EMS providers in Hawaii — from the remote rural communities of Maui's upcountry to the dense urban corridors of Honolulu. We advocate for better resources, improved training standards, and stronger support systems for Hawaii's emergency responders.

Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, the Hawaii EMS Association works to ensure that every resident and visitor to Hawaii has access to world-class emergency medical care, regardless of where they are on the islands.

Programs & Initiatives

The Hawaii EMS Association offers a comprehensive range of programs designed to strengthen emergency medical services across the state. Our Continuing Education Program provides EMS professionals with the latest training in advanced life support, trauma care, and pediatric emergencies.

Our Community CPR & First Aid Initiative trains thousands of Hawaii residents each year in life-saving techniques, empowering ordinary citizens to act effectively in emergencies before professional help arrives. We partner with schools, businesses, and community organizations to maximize our reach.

The EMS Wellness Program addresses the mental health and physical wellbeing of emergency responders, who face significant occupational stress. Through peer support networks, counseling resources, and wellness workshops, we help EMS professionals maintain the resilience needed for their demanding work.
